It's been seven months since a Cheshire milkman was stabbed while doing early morning rounds.

It was like any other morning for Rob Smith, a milkman for Briscoe's Dairy, as he did his deliveries in the sleepy village of Tarporley.

Rob, who has been a milkman for 12 years, was approached by two youths as he did his rounds at around 5am on a Friday morning (January 31).

As he was driving on Eaton Road, two young men jumped out near the dark lane of Cobblers Cross and asked for a lift.

Shortly after the incident Rob, from Tarporley, spoke of his experiences during an interview with the BBC.

He said: "I said no to them. One of them tried to steal some stuff off the back.

"Told him to go, and the other one just stuck a knife in me."

After the incident the youths fled the scene towards a nearby field.

One of the males is described as being around 15 to 16-years-old, around 6ft of slim build with short dark hair.

He was wearing dark-rimmed glasses and a black puffa-style coat with a small white logo.

The other male is described as white, aged 13 to 15-years-old, around 5ft 4” of medium build and was wearing dark coloured clothing.

Rob later told Cheshire Live : "I didn't know what had happened, to start with.

"It was only when I looked at my hand and it was covered in blood.

"I think it's disgusting."

Despite being stabbed and suffering minor injuries Rob was back at work the day after the incident on February 1.

A Cheshire Constabulary spokesperson said: "No arrests have been made in connection with this incident.

"Should any new information come to light officers will act upon it.
